Park, Cars and Bus

I love preschool. I think the thing I love most about it, aside from the fact that the girls get to learn new things and get to play with their friends, is the alone time that I get to spend with Tommy. I am head over heels for that boy, I guess this is the true definition of a mama's boy. I never understood it until now.

After we drop the girls off at preschool, Tommy and I usually head to the park.

They are building a new bathroom facility right next to it, and T is a big fan of the construction. He's always pointing and begging me with those big blue eyes to take him over to watch the bulldozers and dump trucks.

T is also a big fan of his new matchbox cars.

His friend Travis gave him a ramp and it has kept him very busy.

He's not the only one that has a newfound interest in racing cars...

On the way home from preschool on Friday, Elle asked me if Daddy could buy her a bus because she wanted to ride it "evyday". So, Saturday night after dinner we decided to take a ride on the downtown looper.

Here we are waiting at the bus stop:

Tommy was scared because we sat in the back of the bus by the engine and it was really LOUD.

But after a few minutes he calmed down and the girls had a blast.

Afterward, we decided to hang by the bay and take in the views.

Khera and Elle decided to play a game of hide and seek also, Elle always finds the best hiding places...

When we got home, T-man was smelling a bit too much like the bus, so he took a quick dip in the kitchen sink hot tub.

Until next time...

September Randomness

Last Thursday night we took the kids to the park after dinner to wear them out have fun. The only thing that we could offer to entice them back to the car was to take a "Shrek bath" when we got home.

This is the only non-revealing photo that illustrates the green bathwater (colored with a few drops of green food-coloring):
Here's a cute shot of the girls LOVING bathtime:

And one of Tom-tom: **Note to all mothers and fathers out there, if you attempt this in your own home, always always always remember to put the food coloring away after you use it. I know it's hard when you're getting 3 little ones out, towels, slipping, drying, pjs, drama...I made that mistake once and will never do it again.
We like to refer to the girl in this photo as Princess Fiona:
We washed her hands a dozen times and there were still traces of green on her hands the next morning for preschool.

Grandma was so generous to take the girls home with her Friday night after numerous harrassing phonecalls from the girls during the week begging to stay over. What happens at Grandma's house, stays at Grandma's house, truly. They love playing with the kittens, watching movies, playing dollhouse, computer games, eating endless amounts of sweets and candy, and they especially love Grandmas rules. Grandma takes them to the grocery, lets them pick out whatever they want to eat, and if they are really, really good she'll take them to the dollar store and let them pick out a toy. She also lets them cook, which is something I'm trying to get better at, lucky for them Grandma is great at it.

Here is Elle eating pancakes she decorated:
Here's Khera making smores:

We had a small cookout at our house on Saturday night and spent most of the day getting everything ready. I was exhausted cleaning inside and outside of the house, I think Tommy sensed that and decided to help out.
If he could talk he would be saying something like "I've got this one Mom, you go sit down, put your feet up and have a glass of wine":

Here is putting a little elbow grease into it:

Here's a close-up so you can see his 2 new teeth on the bottom:
It wasn't until the end of the cookout that I realized that I forgot to take a single photo, so here are the kids posing with their best buds Travis and Sophia:

We all had so much fun in fact that everyone stayed over until 10pm, roughly 3 hours past bedtime. The next morning the kids slept in until 8am, and YES that is considered sleeping in past their 6:30am routine.

Here are the girls waiting patiently for Daddy to get back from his business trip yesterday:

Here's Khera polishing her shadow puppet skills to show B when he got home:

And I'll leave you with one last shot of K-bear--next time you put on your pajamas ask yourself this: Why wouldn't you wear sunglasses to bed???

Fashionista Elle

So when I went to peek in on the girls last night, this is what I saw:

Those crazy gals, both fast asleep in Khera's bed...honestly I don't know how they can share a little twin bed between the two of them, the books, stuffed animals, farm animals, littlest pet shop toys, etc. I moved Elle back to her bed, but somehow she ended up back in Khera's by morning. Notice Elle's fabulous choice of PJs, a tutu no less.

She's inspired me to take yet another trip down memory lane. There's something you need to know about Elle-belly, she is a clothes and accessory-aholic. She's always been that way, here she is at 1 year insisting to put her Nemo bathing suit top over her blanket sleeper:

This one I like to call "Elle Lauper", and YES I did let her wear this to preschool that day, I learned early to choose my battles with my little spice girl:
Those tights and tutu are compliments of her GJ, she really spoils Elle, in fact the longer I look at this photo, both girl's top and skirt combos are also from GJ.

The next doozie was snapped when Elle fell asleep in Time Out:

Next up, another little number she pulled together and wore to preschool, she was so proud of those socks:

Look at that smile, she knows she was dressed to impress that day. Elle loves the fact that layering is in right now, here she is layering tutus:

And this one was taken today during "naptime", she rolled out of her room in this getup:
Elle layered her "gorgeousy" pajamas from Auntie Jena over a dress I made her, she's also sporting her sweet sunglasses from her good friend Dave and 3rd birthday crown from last summer.

Going to go have a glass of wine now, and hope that all 3 kids stay asleep so I can enjoy it. So glad B's coming home tomorrow, we miss him TONS!

First Day of School

August 23rd was the girls' first day of pre-school....I feel like they were just born yesterday!!!
So, we did a dry-run prior to the first day to make sure we allotted enough time for everything (breakfast, brushing teeth, tantrums, bargaining, etc.) and I'm so glad I did. Monday we remembered everything--except to take a picture before we left :-(

So a kind fellow mom, snapped some for us, Khera's had 2 years of practice so she knows the drill:

but Elle was not quite the ham she usually is:

And a finally a shot of (almost) all of us:

I'm hoping there's someone with the same colored hair standing behind us, otherwise this was a really bad hair day on my part...is that a small cat hanging from my head?

Here's a post first day of school shot at our back door:

And a trip down memory lane, the past 2 years photos:

They say it flies by, and I believe it. Looking at that last photo, I think I was more nervous for Khera's 1st day than she was. Going to go now, gotta go sneak down the hall and peek in on those two little princesses, I absolutely LOVE watching them sleep, it is the most peaceful thing I've ever experienced...
