Legomania, A Package and Mother's Day

The Easter bunny brought the girls a set of Legos this year and they have been busy ever since.

Now, if they had legos like these when I was a little girl, I think I would have been over the moon for them.  Back then legos were primarily for boys, red, yellow, blue, black, white and BORING.

After a trip to Downtown Disney's Lego store, we have been HOOKED.
Here are the kids with a life-sized lego Buzz Lightyear.

and Woody.

It was at this store that we discovered Lego Friends, a girls line with several different girls and corresponding hobbies.  Grandma and Papi bought them each a "friend".  Khera picked Mia, a pet groomer and Elle chose Emma, the fashion designer OF COURSE!  There are others like an inventor, baker, musician and lots of other sets including a cafe, dog show, tree house, convertible, etc.  I may or may not like legos more than the girls do, you decide.

Khera made her first online purchase several weeks ago. She's been reading Paddington in Kindergarten and wanted to buy a bear of her own. Here is a snapshot of her when I told her the package came in the mail.

Together at last!

She melts my heart when she reads to Tom-tom.

She was feeling the hit to her piggy bank and decided to take matters into her own hands and make some quick money on her own. We found this note on her bed.

This mothers day was probably my favorite ever. They made me breakfast in bed, complete with a flower on the tray. Here are my lovies with their presents for me {insert melting}.

Thanks kids for the best Mother's Day ever, you really know how to make a mama feel special!
Love, Mom

Anna Maria Island Fun and School's Out!

Not too long ago we found some super cool snails and salamanders out back .

Isn't it so cool how he blends in so well?

Over Memorial Day weekend we headed down to spend some time with Bumpa and Kathy on Anna Maria.  And boy did we have a great time--treats were flowing like water down there!!

We spent some time at the beach too, Khera found some delicate clam shells.

Daddy, Bumpa and the kids watched some Scholastic movies with the kids, their favorite was Trashy Town.  Bumpa loved it so much, I might have heard him singing the songs later that weekend.

Of course you know the trains came along on our journey...they always do!

Bumpa and Kathy got the girls some crayons and coloring books to keep them busy when they were not in the pool.

Speaking of the pool, they went in at least twice a day.  Kathy took them out several times and I was so thankful for the break.

As always, we had a great time and are looking forward to their next visit.

We had to hit the road and get ready for the last week of school...

Tommy's end of school party was a water day out on the playground.

I think he had a good time, don't you?

We hit up Fantastic Sam's for a quick summer cut, I was thankful to put an end to morning, post-swim and evening hair battle that comes with longer hair.

No more mop for shaggy (sniff-sniff).

Elle's end of year party was at a bowling alley and the kids really had a blast.

Khera's end of year party was a bunch of relay races in the gym because the weather was not cooperating.  Nonetheless she had a great time and she is pleased to report that the girls beat the boys at tug-of-war twice in a row!

We've been making lots of plans for this summer and are so looking forward to getting back to OH to catch up with friends and family.

I Be Three!

Our little Tommy-boy turned three this spring and to celebrate we got him a sweet little cupcake from our local cupcake shop.  This video was after the kids took a dip in the pool and showered, hence the "hosed-down" look they are sporting in this video:

He's growing up into such a big boy and has come so far in the past year we are so proud of him.

He had a party with his preschool class and got this great hat and sticker which he wore for the next several days.

Our present to T was an early one, a trip to see the actual Thomas the Train in action.

Grandma, Papi and my sister spoiled him with lots of McQueens, Maters and train loot.

He also finagled a date with mommy to Moon Under Water.

Another date with Daddy to Cappy's Pizza.

A Thomas Video, Day of the Diesels, pronounced "Day O Dee" from GJ along with corresponding diesel engines from his aunts and uncles.

That's about all on T's birthday front.  Year three has it's own challenges just like the terrible twos, but he still proceeds to melt my heart every chance he gets.  Now, if only we could get him to sit on the potty...
